Administrative Agency Representation and Governmental Relations
Represent dealers before the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board and lobby regulatory agencies including the State Corporation Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, DMV and the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board, legislators and executive offices.

Alternative Dispute Resolution
Help in both mediation and arbitration, often resolving disputes without a court appearance.

Anti-trust
Counsel sales organizations and trade associations in issues of market operations and competition, pricing, contracts and due diligence.

Business Financing, Formation and Structure
Articulate and clarify business structure, craft and review financing agreements, partnership and shareholder documents, corporate restructuring and contracts for business sale or purchase. Represent dealers in business transactions such as commercial real estate transactions, collections and creditors rights, leasing and buy-sell agreements, with motor vehicle dealers specifically in mind.

Dealer Franchise Law Issues
Assistance in franchise relationships, franchise system acquisition, dealerships, manufacturing, franchise law compliance and dealer rights, licensing agreements, site control and due diligence.

Employment and Labor
Assistance in employment counseling and litigation, employee benefits, employment contracts, employee handbooks and personnel policies, non-compete agreements, regulatory compliance (ADA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.) and employee issues including grievances, harassment and termination.

Estate Planning and Succession Planning
Help with issues of wealth accumulation and protection, succession planning, estate management and trust administration. Land Use and Zoning Assist with zoning and land development issues that involve interacting with municipal authorities, planning and zoning commissions, Board of Supervisors and other regulatory and legislative bodies at the local and state level. Handle condemnation and eminent domain, environmental assessment and compliance, rezoning and zoning ordinance interpretation.

Insurance Coverage, Product Liability and Risk Management
Advise businesses and owners on insurance coverage obligations, duties to defend insureds and management of insurance coverage litigation, coverage under life, health, and disability, officer and director liability, and garage owner’s liability policies.

Land Use and Zoning
Help with zoning and land development issues that involve interacting with municipal authorities, planning and zoning commissions, Board of Supervisors and other regulatory and legislative bodies at the local and state level.

Litigation
Defend against claims under the Fair Credit Reporting, Fair Debt Collection and Truth in Lending laws, as well as from insurance, employment disputes, directors and officers liability and Sarbanes-Oxley, misrepresentation and other civil actions.

Motorsports
Negotiate and create financing vehicles, work on land use and economic development initiatives, licensing, sponsor development and trademark protection, and construct and close large commercial real estate transactions.

Taxation
Advise about local, state or federal tax, or sales tax, property tax, business licensing and revenue, or capital gains tax issues, and the implementation and fulfillment of stock option plans, repurchase plans, buyouts, mergers and asset sales, and operations acquisitions.

Workers’ Compensation
Handle all phases of workers' compensation litigation, including hearings, dispute resolution and appeals before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission, appeals to the Virginia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Virginia.
